North Alabama International College of Engineering and Technology, Guizhou University was officially established in November 2021 with the approval of the Ministry of Education. The college is affiliated with Guizhou University and has a total student capacity of 1180. It offers three undergraduate programs: Engineering and Technology, Sustainability, and Occupational Health Science, all with a duration of four years. And the Master of Applied Engineering Science program, with a duration of 2.5 years. The college admitted its first batch of undergraduates in September 2022 and its first group of master's students in September 2023. Currently, the college has 681 full-time undergraduate students, 56 graduate students, and 19 faculty members, including 111 full-time professors. Among the full-time professors, 86 hold senior positions (26 full professors and 60 associate professors) and 96 hold doctoral degrees. There are 22 doctoral supervisors and 78 master's supervisors. The faculty includes 4 provincial experts from Guizhou and 10 academic leaders.
The undergraduate training adopts a dual degree and dual enrollment model within a 4+0 framework, highlighting an international, innovative, and interdisciplinary talent development approach. The student training is jointly conducted by Guizhou University and North Alabama University, with North Alabama University faculty responsible for teaching all major courses and at least one-third of the core courses. Additionally, the college recruits a certain number of outstanding teachers globally for teaching duties. Students who complete the prescribed study duration, fulfill the educational and teaching plan, and meet the graduation requirements of the university are awarded a graduation certificate from Guizhou University. Students who meet the English requirements and the degree-granting conditions of both universities are awarded dual degrees from both Guizhou University and North Alabama University; those meeting the conditions of one university receive a degree from that institution alone.
