During the 2026 winter break, the “Coffee Journey” practice team from NAICET at Guizhou University carried out a social research project focusing on the rise of Guiyang’s coffee industry. The team carried outfield visits to local cafes, tours of coffee production facilities, and interviews with industry experts, the students explored the innovative models and development strategies of the sector’s growing popularity.
The team visited several distinctive coffee shops in Guiyang, experiencing firsthand the creative integration of local ingredients with coffee. Additionally, members engaged in in-depth exchanges with industry experts at roasting facilities, discussing topics ranging from technical details to broader industry philosophies. The team also interviewed university scholars to learn about the scientific planning behind coffee cultivation, research and development, and brand building.
This research project integrated classroom learning with real-world practice. While gaining insight into the characteristic local industry, the students also strengthened their professional identity and sense of social responsibility.
