NAICET "Celebrity Talk" |International Etiquette Standards and Cross-Cultural Communication Practice

On the morning of March 30, a special lecture on International Etiquette Standards and Cross-Cultural Communication Practice was successfully held at Room 120, Dezheng Building of Guizhou University. Co-hosted by the University's Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, North Alabama International College of Engineering and Technology, as well as the First and Fourth Student Communities, the lecture served as the debut event of NAICET Celebrity Talk column. The lecture was given by Dr. Zhou Jiali, Associate Professor of China Foreign Affairs University and China's first doctor in diplomatic protocol research, and hosted by Shuai Jia, Deputy Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation.

 Starting with consideration as the core principle of etiquette, Professor Zhou Jiali interpreted the differences between the Golden Rule and the Platinum Rule with diplomatic cases, and shared practical etiquette skills covering four major scenarios: seating arrangement, welcoming and seeing-off ceremony, verbal communication and dressing image. 

The lecture witnessed active interaction and warm atmosphere. Responding to the increasing frequency of international exchanges among teachers and students, the event plays a significant role in improving their cross-cultural communication competence and promoting the university's internationalization. In the future, the college will continue to deepen international exchanges and cooperation to support the high-quality development of the university.
