NAICET "Celebrity Talk" | Understanding China Through the Lenses of Foreign Youth

On the afternoon of March 30, the first session of the "New Era Moral Education Project" Reading Club was successfully held at Xishan Theater in the West Campus of Guizhou University. Themed "Understand China, Set Off Now, Be Brave Innovators of the Times", the event was attended by Yang Wei, Secretary of the University Party Committee, Peng Jie, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee, Chen Yanbo, Vice President of the University, as well as distinguished guests including Professor Luo Jun from Beijing Normal University, Director Ou Dianqiu from Xinhua News Agency Guizhou Branch, and Dean Hong Yun from Guizhou University. Li Panpan from the Publicity Department of Guizhou Provincial Party Committee hosted the event.

With the theme "The Other's Eye and Self-Cognition", Professor Luo Jun delivered a keynote speech on the "Looking at China · Foreign Youth Video Project", explaining how the project truly presents China and breaks the limitations of international communication through the cross-cultural perspectives of foreign youth. Combining with creation cases, he emphasized that telling China's stories well requires respecting cultural diversity, building cultural confidence, and encouraging young people to dare to practice.

During the panel discussion and interactive sessions, guests, teachers and students had in-depth exchanges and active interactions on topics such as cross-cultural communication methods, how young people view the world equally, and carrying out innovations with Guizhou's local characteristics. In her concluding speech, Secretary Yang Wei combined the project with her cross-cultural communication experience, encouraging young students to take root in reality, broaden their horizons, be open and inclusive, stay committed and responsible, and write and tell their own China stories in practice.
