The Inauguration Ceremony 2022 of North Alabama International College of Engineering and Technology, Guizhou University was held on the morning of 13 December, celebrating 202 undergraduate students as they embark on their new journeys.
President Song Bao’an, the Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, shared a few insights to help new students better navigate the years ahead in his keynote speech.
Dr. Kenneth Kitts, the President of University of North Alabama, bestowed the deepest expectations on the new students, “ I encourage you to take full advantage of the learning opportunities, resources and support systems at both universities in reaching your career dreams and life goals.”
Professor Hong Yun, Dean of North Alabama International College of Engineering and Technology, Guizhou University, encouraged all new students to strive to be top-notch talents with global vision, innovative spirit and practical ability.
Professor Li Ziwei, Chair of Chemical Engineering and Technology Department, expressed his expectation for the joint college on behalf of faculty.
Guan Haoyuan, Li Mingyu and Sun Wuyang, spoke on behalf of the new students during the ceremony. Guan talked about the warmth he felt in all aspects when he started his college life. Li expressed her deep gratitude to both universities for broadening her horizon and improving her ability in an all-round way. Sun shared his personal experience and explained why he chose the cooperative schooling between China and America as well as mechanical engineering as his major.
Since August, North Alabama International College of Engineering and Technology, Guizhou University, has prepared a broad range of activities for its new students, including a series of online academic lectures, academic guidance sharing sessions, ice-breaking activities, orientation, “Freshman Cup” basketball game as well as the inauguration ceremony. All these are valuable opportunities for new students to know about the academic and college life at North Alabama International College of Engineering and Technology, Guizhou University, and to integrate into the community.
